Restock emails perform best when shoppers recognize the sender. A generic app address can look disconnected from the store, especially if the shopper does not remember signing up.
What a sender domain does
A branded sender domain lets the merchant send from an address such as notifications@store.com or backinstock@updates.store.com. The domain is verified with DNS records so email providers can authenticate the sender.
Why DNS verification matters
DKIM and related records help receiving inboxes verify that the app is allowed to send on behalf of the merchant's domain. This supports trust and can improve deliverability when configured correctly.
Do not use myshopify.com
Merchants generally cannot add the required DNS records to a myshopify.com domain. They should use a domain or subdomain they control through their DNS provider.
Bodanu Back in Stock includes sender-domain setup so merchants can make restock emails feel native to their brand.
